Gated Alley Program (GAP)

The Gated Alley Program (GAP) is a community-driven initiative from the City of Phoenix designed to improve neighborhood safety, reduce blight, and restore pride in our shared alleyways. Unsecured alleys can attract illegal dumping, trespassing, and other nuisance activity that negatively impacts property values and quality of life. Through GAP, residents who live next to an eligible city-owned alley can work together to petition for gates that limit unauthorized access while still allowing entry for emergency services, utilities, and trash collection. The result is a cleaner, safer, and more secure environment that benefits the entire neighborhood and encourages community collaboration.
